About Shannon

…but you can call me Shan! My wife, family and friends are my number ones. I’m a team leader working with 14 to 21-year-old CPS/foster care youth and truly enjoy supporting their very unique situations. I love living in AZ, although I can never get used to the summers. I think it’s important to return unwanted items back to the correct aisle/bin at the grocery store (especially refrigerated or frozen foods). I love to sing, play the piano, and I can even still do the splits…seriously, I can but only with my left leg in front. Although it’s hard, I try to live by a set of rules my big brother shared with me in 7th grade: #1. Don’t Care What Other People Think, #2. Be Nice, #3. Smile. In our community, people struggle every day with sharing smiles and accepting them…I hope we can ALL smile at each other one day but first, I will share mine with MRSter.

Just wanted to say how informative this site is. I love the candy buffet idea and the wonka bars are a great touch. We’ve just bought some from http://www.personaliseyourwedding.com and they went down really well. I couldn’t recommend this idea enough. All our guests love them

Good luck and keep up the good work!

I believe you should choose to call yourself Mrs., if that is what you would like. You are married, therefore a Mrs. Most importantly, you should do whatever you feel best represents yourself and makes you happiest! :-)

I am working with a lovely couple that is very adamant that their event is a "wedding." Even though the term "commitment ceremony" on my website attracted them to me originally, they were very specific in their initial consultation that they wanted all (well, most) of the traditional elements of a wedding, and that’s what they were calling it.

I’m not sure any term is right or wrong, it should be left up to the couple to decide what language they are comfortable with.

To me, the words are interchangeable, whether it’s a gay wedding or straight wedding. In both instances people are having a ceremony signifying a commitment.
