I love this photobooth, and linked to it on my own blog today, too!
One thing to consider about doing printing on site at a wedding is you either need to rent a machine that is setup to do automatic prints (like a real photobooth) or hire a staff to work next to the photographer – at least one person who is able to prep the files for print as they are taken. From a photographers’ perspective, it’s too much rush and hurry to be able to to do this well, as well as adequately cover the other events going on during a reception such as dancing and toasts.
If you’re bringing your own portable printer, understand that the quality will not be very good. These prints will fade within a year or so, and are quite liable to ruin with any form of moisture or spill. The novelty factor is still there, though! Also make sure you have backup ink cartridges and lots of photo paper on hand to make sure all goes smoothly.
I really hope more couples invest in this kind of creative add-on in upcoming months. It adds an entirely new and wonderful level of story to your wedding collection, and provides an opportunity for even introverted guests to let out a little of their creative and wild side.
