We have all been to the traditional wedding ceremony and reception and I don’t know about any of you, but I am over it! When planning your special day don’t be afraid to be daring, out of the norm, and eccentric! In planning my own ceremony I decided that I wanted it to be a night to remember so I planned it to be different with an evening of surprises, and it went over very well! Here are some tips for planning outside the box…
Tip # 1: Choosing the perfect table designs::
Make choices that really encompass your personality, so if you are music buffs use some old records instead of chargers. Or for all you retro-loving peeps consider using furry or polyester linens instead of the standard cottons or satins. There is no rule of thumb on matching tables either, symmetrical is boring so by offering different table décor it will your offer your guests the chance to walk around and experience each table separately, they will love the element of surprise and appreciate the details.

Tip # 2: Keeping your guests amused ::
I think it’s very important to involve your guests in the evening's activities, and you can do this in a variety of different ways. Any wedding I have been to had the standard guest book signing, money dance, and of course the ever-so-boring speeches (sometimes unexpected ones). Well I say throw all those ideas out the window and give your friends and family some activities to remember! For my ceremony we offered tarot card readings and it was a huge hit amongst partygoers. You can choose anything for your guests to do that might fit your unique style, just make sure to offer something for everyone.

Tip # 3: Bring some style to the aisle ::
Now its hard to imagine, and might sound a bit shocking to some, but there is no reason to walk down the aisle. Imagine rocking down the aisle! Instead of the traditional "dum...dum...da...dum," consider switching up the tunes and playing your favorite songs--what a concept! I’m brilliant!! Okay maybe not, but why not tango, salsa, or break dance your way through the crowd? Believe me, it’s a great way to shock your guests and it will be quickly accepted and enjoyed by everyone; not to mention a grand opening for all the other great times to come that evening.

Hopefully some of these tips are helpful, just remember to keep it fresh, bold and uniquely you!
