Photos For Evening Weddings

Guest Blogger :: Shannon

When my fiancée, Erika, and I walk down the aisle, a light glow from wax luminaries and rose petals highlighting each step will be the only light anyone sees. So how will we remember our fairytale wedding without sun? Largo Photography! Chris and Tammie, owners of Largo Photography and FabUlist members, have accepted us as clients and as part of Team Cardenas (my new last name). They are going to create breathtaking memories for us, our children, and their children.

We had many questions for Chris and Tammie, which they answered promptly with confidence. Their portfolio is captivating; their delivery sensitive to both of our needs.  Erika had always wanted to wait to see me until I walk down the aisle to her, but I was having a hard time with knowing it would be dark due to the evening setting. Largo Photography encouraged us to consider taking pictures before the wedding in order to get the best natural light possible.  It was a very hard decision, but we went with it.  Cicely Rocha-Miller, our wedding planner and owner of Life Design Event Planning, promised the romantic moment we always dreamed of…just a little earlier in the day. Largo took the time to illustrate to us how they would bring “light” in to our evening wedding.  Their website shows how talented this couple is, and how they make fairytales come to life.

Here are a few samples from their website. Below pictures courtesy of Largo Photography.

Daytime Wedding Receptions

Guest Blogger :: Rhonda

Trust me when I tell you that I have no problem partaking in some night time reception fun, but there is something so classic and invigorating about about attending daytime festivities. From a photographic standpoint, I am literally in heaven with just the right amount of natural light at my fingertips...people look better and the details you've worked so hard to incorporate can truly stand out. And aside from my own selfish photography agenda, day time receptions also have other benefits that may fit into your vision:

Serving a brunch or light lunch buffet to your guests is not only chic, but often budget friendly. You can stick to the basics, but food is also another way to highlight your own personalities as well as possibly both you and your partner's backgrounds and heritages. Ask your caterer about including your absolute favorite foods.

The idea of the signature cocktail is nothing new but is yet another avenue for expression. Feel free to name your own concoction...it's your day. I like the idea of a Bloody Mary bar, but am also drawn to the many recipes that Champagne or prosecco can lend themselves to. Really, everybody looks classy with a sparkling beverage during the day. Don't forget about non-alcoholic options.

Time of year can also play a big part depending on what area of the country you are in, so keep that in mind. Summers have longer daylight times and if you happen to be in Phoenix in the "winter," your guests will certainly appreciate a little afternoon sun on their backs.

Just remember that it is called your wedding DAY...I figure your wedding NIGHT can be reserved for something else.
